BOILER CHEMICALS
Scale inhibitor, Corrosion Inhibitor, Descalant, Sludge Conditioner, Passivating Agent, pH booster, oxygen schavanger, Alkanity builder.
We carry out Descaling activity as well.
Scale Inhibitor
A scale inhibitor can be defined as a chemical that prevents the formation of scale in such systems as boilers. Scale, which may be calcite or gypsum in nature, forms on the inner surfaces of boilers and heat exchangers, thus increasing costs of maintenance since extra energy is used to heat the extra layer of scale and in some cases may result to system failure. To prevent the formation of these deposits, Techomeca employs scale inhibitors, and due to this, the boiler equipment maintains the right efficiency, and durability.
Corrosion Inhibitor
Anti-corrosives help reduce rust and corrosion of the metallic parts of the boiler systems. These chemicals form a shield on the metal parts, thus delaying the process of corrosion, and eventual weakening of the material. This is important in preventing the structure of the boiler from deforming, and thus increasing the working life of the boiler.
Descalant
Descalants are prepared to dissolve the scale on the boiler system and they are not the same as inhibitors. Periodically there will be changes to the structure of the bacterial biofilm and although growth will be inhibited by the presence of ring, some scale may still develop. Descalants are used in the sense that they chemically dissolve this scale making it easy to be mechanically removed by scraping or by simply rinsing with water. Techomeca have descaling services among the range of services inherent to the company and aimed at regular boiler maintenance.
Sludge Conditioner
The chemical feed products for boiler systems are sludge conditioners which are utilised to treat the occurrence of sludge in the system. These conditioners enhance the stringiness and coagulability of the sludge and help in the efficient and easy elimination of the same during the different maintenance processes hence decreasing the maintenance load and enhancing the efficiency of the system.
Passivating Agent
Passivating agents are utilized to lower the activity of metal working within boiler systems, chiefly where iron or steel is used. They produce a secondary passive film on the metal surface preventing further corrosion and oxidation. It also plays a part in the protection of the metallic parts of the boiler and increasing the toughness of the part.
pH Booster
Boilers should work optimally at certain pH level since is not good to be too acidic or too basic. Chemicals added with a purpose of increasing or decreasing the acidity/ alkalinity of the boiler water to achieve this range are referred to as pH boosters. Control of the pH is vital since it enhances heat flow, reduces corrosion and the subsequent shortening of the boiler’s life.
Oxygen Scavenger
Oxygen control chemicals also known as oxygen scavengers utilizes the dissolved oxygen in the boiler water and cannot form the corrosive agents. Dissolved oxygen is primarily known to cause pitting corrosion which is quite detrimental to boiler materials. Through the elimination of oxygen these scavengers prevent the boiler system from such damage.
Alkalinity Builder
Alkalinity builders enhance the amount of alkaline in boiler water supply. High alkalinity has a function of countering the acids that are formed during the combustion process to avoid cases where acids attack the boiler materials. It also helps in maintaining that right Ph level within the system.
Descaling Activity
As for the specialist services for the descaling activity, it is to note that Techomeca provides such services. This involves the application of strong descalant agents for the purpose of softening and stripping off hard and deposit laden interior walls of a boiler. After descaling, the alternate treatment is then applied to clean the system and apply inhibitors and other chemical to reduce scale and corrosion in the future.
